"I take part in the negotiations held in different forms between different political forces in order to find common stand in the settlement of the most crucial issues that require amendments to the Fundamental Law", - stated Oleksandr Lavrynovych, First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in an exclusive interview to "Intermediaconsulting" news agency, commenting upon the necessity of amending the Constitution.
Thus, according to Oleksandr Lavrynovych, basic amendments envisage elimination of actual functioning of two parallel systems of executive authorities, and state the necessity of consolidating local self-government and reforming the judicial system to determine its structure and authorities.
However, the politician stated that there was a faint possibility that the amendments to the Fundamental Law would be introduced. "I can not declare that the said matters will be positively settled within the current year", - he stated.
However, according to O.Lavrynovych, "at present one can only declare that the President is authorized to terminate the authorities of The Verkhovna Rada. Nevertheless, his capability to exercise this right remains solely a Ukrainian problem".
